Sharmeen Mobin Bhuiyan

Biography: Sharmeen completed her master degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka in the session 1994-95 session. Currently doing her Ph.D. on the issue titled “Level and Determinants of Economic Efficiency in Primary Public Healthcare Facilities: A Study in Selected Areas of Bangladesh” under the supervision of Professor Sushil Ranjan Howlader, Professor, Institute of health Economics, University of Dhaka.
In 2002 I joined as a lecturer in the Institute of health Economics, University of Dhaka and now working as an Associate Professor in the same institute.
Teaching: I am currently teaching Advance Microeconomics for Health Sector-I at the masters level. My research interest includes health care financing, economic evaluation of health care.
Research: I have done research on evaluation of Local Level Plan, assessment of existing capacity of human and other resources for health service delivery, costing of health services provided by the primary level facilities in three SSK pilot upazilas of Bangladesh, patient behavior, burden of Malaria and Kala azar in Bangladesh, strengthening reproductive health services for the urban poor,delivery of health care through micro health insurance scheme, socioeconomic status and childhood morbidity in rural Bangladesh.
